Katy Davenport, Educational Clinic Director at the Clinic for Autism Research, Evaluation and Support (CARES) at Texas State University will speak on these topics. Ms. Davenport has over 13 years of experience working with children with a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities in public schools, as a private in home behavior therapist (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), and as a consultant to school districts.
CARES has developed an assessment to identify goals and skills that need to be taught for a child to be independent and safe in everyday situations. It covers safety at home, in the community, with peers, and on the Internet. See link for more information and registration.
